I quickly realised that BA with Excel integration was capable of much more than I was using it for and began devising new strategies to take advantage of it's capabilities. Since then I've had success after success as I've discovered new ways of exploiting the Betfair markets and become better at realising them.
I've enjoyed the process and learned some good new skills along the way too. Winning on Betfair isn't easy and Gruss BA isn't a magic bullet, you still have to figure out ways of beating a very sophisticated market and you still need to be calm, patient and sensible. What Gruss does do though is put the right tools at your fingertips with super fast, totally reliable and easy to use software that can do everything you will ever need. I am now one of the lucky few who make good money day in, day out on Betfair, so a big thank you to Gruss for making that possible.
The software incorporates an extensive range of features and tools, including the interface with Excel enabling the user to design and create unique trading strategies. A great piece of software, highly recommended. The first most obvious one was that the last traded price is available for each selection. In Gruss if you have several markets open at once on different tabs, you can connect each of the markets to a different sheet in the same Excel workbook and also have a seperate "MyBets" sheet for each market.
This is really great for creating triggers from one market and applying it in another e. You can control the refresh rate of each market independently from Excel and this can be automated e. This brings me neatly onto the next point which is the superb development support. New ideas and suggestions for improvements are monitored closely by Gruss and in some cases, for minor improvements, I have experienced them being implemented on the same day!
Now that is what I call service! There is also the option of automated trading too if you prefer. It provides enough flexibility and ease of use to suit newcomers and also experienced traders too. The Trader and Professional options both come with 14 day free trials should you want to test them out. There are several subscription plans available for Bet Angel Trader and Professional, depending on the length of time you want to commit. Automation is only available in the professional version as well as a few other features, which are mainly there to provide additional research and trading advice.
This is a great tool for that all essential speed when Betfair trading on the in-play betting markets. This is great for those more experienced on betting exchange sites, but novice traders would probably be best advised to familiarise themselves with manual trading initially.
There are free learning materials in the form of videos and blogs on their website, but on the downside there is no practice mode available. Both versions of Gruss are only available on Windows computers. Their software is primarily geared towards manual trading and there is only a limited automated service.

Remarkable, momentum investing book really

Gary Russell and Mark Russell are both active here as well and appear to actively take on board what users ask for and want. This is very much optional although recommended in my opinion. The manual is very much in line with this, being informative without ever wandering too far into the realm of technicality. You also get a small amount of video assistance as well. Gary Russell and Mark Russell also make themselves available for support via email.
There is a version of the software that allows you to trade on Betdaq in the same way as Betfair. There are however plans to make this a bigger part of Gruss Betting Assistant Software in the future. At the moment, there is also no charge for the Betdaq version of Gruss Software however Gary Russell and Mark Russell say that they reserve the right to change this in the future.
When it comes to Betfair trading software, costs differ wildly. Some examples are free and represent a great starting point. Both of these are reasonably priced in my opinion. Unfortunately, there is no money back guarantee in place for Gruss Software. Conclusion on Gruss Betting Assistant?
There is no best piece of software and realistically, what works well for one is not necessarily going to work well for another. I am of the opinion that Gruss Software does a lot very well. This is for a very good reason. I feel like it is safe to say that with Gruss Software, Gary Russell and Mark Russell have focused on function rather than form. The only other problem that I can possibly perceive is that Gruss Software is perhaps aimed a little more at the technically minded crowd.
What I mean by this is that if you really want to get the most out of Gruss Software, then you do need to have some idea of what you are doing. What this means for users is that you can guarantee that Gruss Software will only get better as it needs to be. Sticking with the subject of the creators, Gruss Software has a very strong community and creators who genuinely care about their products. In some ways, this is a rarity in and of itself.
Quite whether or not Gruss Software will be for you is something that remains to be seen. What I will say however is if you are considering changing or are looking for some trading software to get you started, I definitely think that Gruss Software is worth a serious look. The guys behind Gruss Software have done a bang up job. It is affordable, works well and provides everything that a trader would need.
Also, please remember that actual Betfair users have helped design the software, in particular, as I mentioned earlier Steve Howe of Its a Mugs Game Blog In Fact, you can see Steve Howe using the Gruss Betting Assistant on the video below: As you can see from aboove, the software is highly visual, attractive even, and easy to use.
Honestly, I am not certain that you could do better than Gruss Betting Assistant Software for the money that is charged. Gruss Software Automation Both versions of Gruss Betting Assistant have a COM interface function for Gruss Software automation which allows 3rd party software, or Excel spreadsheets to connect via the Gruss software to betting exchange markets, and use their API data to trigger bets, monitor market prices, etc.
Gruss Excel Spreadsheet Automation Microsoft Excel spreadsheets can be connected to Gruss in order to perform calculations against market data and trigger bets derived from the betting exchange API market data. These Excel bet triggers can be created with just Excel formulas, the option to use VBA is also present however. The Gruss Software forum has plenty of example spreadsheets available to trigger bets. The Gruss software forum also contains a sub forum for anyone looking for a Gruss betting trigger developer. Gruss developers are available for the creation of basic spreadsheet triggers to more advanced VBA visual basic application enabled Excel trigger sheets. Users wanting to scalp markets automatically may find these very useful. Some of the more popular among these bots come from the following providers: Bettingdev TheBetMachine Bettingdev has betting bots for just about everything.
